The set includes 2 letters from the Slingerland Drum Company verifying that the set was used by Buddy Rich on the Tonight Show.
The set was used initially for live performances and eventually stored at NBC studios for Rich to use on his his frequent appearances on the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson.
In all of the videos Rich is playing a matching White Marine Pearl snare. In the 1974 video we can see that the canister throne and the second floor tom are different than those on the set today.
All of the hardware does not match those seen in the videos.
Rich played this set on the Tonight Show up until 1977 when he left Slingerland to endorse Ludwig drums.
At this point, West Coast Slingerland sales rep Phil Hulsey was dispatched to NBC to retrieve the set.
Several items in the videos do not match the set as it is today.
Evanescence is an American rock band founded in Little Rock, Arkansas in 1995 by singer/pianist Amy Lee and guitarist Ben Moody.
After recording two private EPs and a demo CD named Origin, with the help of Bigwig Enterprises in 2000, the band released their first full-length album, Fallen, on Wind-up Records in 2003.
Seal subsequently signed to ZTT Records and released his debut album (produced by Trevor Horn), self-titled Seal, in 1991.
Two versions of the album are known to be in circulation: the original "premix" version and a second, more common version with an updated mix. Seal describes the album as more dance-oriented, apparently a return to the roots of his first album.
