Updating ipod without losing music
It is best if this is done in a separate login account on the computer so you do not loose any of your saved apps and backed up data.
Then from there once you plug it in to a full backup to the computer, no upgrading yet!
Make sure to enable backing up onto your computer, if that is possible (I didn't have to change any settings in order for this to work, but I may have changed settings prior to this)When I installed i OS5, at first my i Pod had no data on it.
Then it took about 2 hours for all the apps, music, etc to be re-loaded onto the device from the backup.
If you're using an i Phone, you can add music or videos only from a single i Tunes Library.
As all Apple users might know, it's hard and even impossible to sync an i Pod with multiple computers at a time for i Tunes will erase the previously synced content completely.
But there is possibility that the old computer died and we get a new one to replace it, so how to keep songs on i Pod with new computer without deleting? Now keep reading to see how to sync your i Pod with a new computer without the risk of deleting music.
This happened automatically, without my having to do anything.
So, in summary, yes installing i OS5 deleted all the data on my device, but then it re-populated my device with all the data I had previously.
